We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in comfortable Millburn cottage. Shetland is majestic, we scratched the surface and each day were glad to return to comfortable homely Millburn with its well equipped kitchen and cosy lounge.
Lindsay, Elfriede and Elizabeth, Glasgow and Pretoria.
My second stay in Millburn but for two weeks this time. Have had another lovely stay and the weather has been great. Winds light and plenty of sunshine and evenings sitting out on the wee patio.
Olga, E. Lothian
First cottage ever with decent knives, knife sharpener, bread tins, rolling pin AND (drum roll…) a PROPER MILK PAN!
Elaine and Eddie, Lancashire.
Such a great place to unwind and relax. Inspiring for the artistic. Harry and Rosie loved the ‘secret garden’. Sauna wonderful. Next time we’re coming for 2 weeks as one is not enough.
Ian, Nicola, Harry and Rosie, Wales.
A really fantastic holiday, we came hoping to see Red throated divers and ended up seeing them everywhere! - on every isolated loch – there they were – amazing and beautiful. We even heard their haunting call from the cottage. The house is perfect with everything you need and after hours of walking each day a joy to come home to. The sauna was great.

Millburn is a great base for exploring Yell, Unst and Fetlar. Very lucky to watch the otter late one evening fishing close to the shore at high tide in front of the cottage. Loathe to leave, but hope to be back.

Millburn Cottage is a delight! Its setting is stunning, thank you for letting us share this little part of Yell. I was so lucky on our second morning here to spend an hour in the company of an otter, he was fishing and eating his breakfast just below the house. I was sat on the peir and he had no idea I was watching – just brilliant. One of many special memories to take away from this lovely place.
Hilary and Mark, Devon
Our stay at Millburn Cottage was much anticipated and was just so lovely and relaxing/peaceful. We have used this as a base to discover Yell – our first visit. We have had several very good walks, my favourite was around the sands of Breckon in the far north and around Kirk Lockh. On a wet day we spent a couple of hours at the Old Haa – very interesting. I enjoyed a solitary swim in Mid Yell pool and also loved the cozy sauna in the cottage. Sorry to be leaving.

A fantastic week, cottage just right for the North Isles. We saw an otter from upstairs window as we were packing to leave. Aywick stores is great and petrol cheaper than Lerwick.!
Graham and Patricia Foot, Pembrokeshire, Wales.
A lovely week in this cosy, comfortable cottage. Here visiting family on Fetlar and mainland, and this has been an ideal base. Love the garden with all its shrubs and sculptures; saw a lot of the resident wrens. Enjoyed a walk at Breckon Sands- our own private beach!
Michael and Tamsin Kelly, Buckinghamshire, England.
A lovely cottage in a beautiful and peaceful setting. We've been to Shetland many times but this was our first visit/stay to Yell. Many delights - scenery, walking, birdlife, history etc and again peaceful and relaxing.
Paul and Sandy Wotton, Glasgow, Scotland.
A. Bethune and B. Boyle, St. Ives Cambridgeshire.
Love the arty touches around the house.
The house was well equipped and we loved the hidden fishing sculptures in the garden"

Otters seen from the house a couple of times, including this morning, mother and youngster. I think they come up for the fresh water, which they need to wash regularly. As well as usual Shetland birds, a crossbill passed through garden. Nice little family of wrens here!
J . Quarmby and W. Prylinski, Minchinhampton, Glos
We had a thoroughly enjoyable week at the comfortable, warm and well appointed cottage”

We’ve really enjoyed being at the cottage and on Yell. We’ve explored several of Peter Guy’s walks and have been struck by the beauty of the island- views, flowers, rocks, sea, birds all making walking here a delight.

We have had a most enjoyable time (though far too short!) at your very comfortable and homely cottage". C. Rogers and J. Mitchley, Hambledon, Surrey .
One week nowhere near long enough. Too many birds to list, several pods of porpoises, a single otter at top of Basta Voe - even the odd fish! Weather mixed as expected, but people so warm.
P. Bryan and C.Lang, Evington, Leicester .
