Millburn is a south facing cottage situated a few metres from the shore on the north side of Mid Yell Voe on the island of Yell in the Shetland Islands.

The House

Millburn, is a two-storey cottage built in the 1920’s sited at the head of Mid Yell Voe. (Voe is the Shetland word for Fjord) It has recently been re-furbished and has a mature sheltered garden with pond. There is off road parking on the drive for two cars.


Entrance is via a glazed porch with ample room for coats and footwear. The house on the ground floor comprises kitchen/diner, lounge, shower room, utility room and sauna. There is also a telephone for incoming calls only. Upstairs there is 1 double bedroom and 1 twin bedroom. Heating is provided on the lower floor via electric storage heaters with an open fire in the lounge and in the bedrooms by electric convector heaters.

It has a south facing view over the voe and one to the north east looking out over the hills.
It is equipped with an electric cooker with ceramic hob, a dishwasher, microwave, fridge freezer, kettle and toaster. Crockery, cutlery, pots pans and all standard kitchen utensils are provided.

There is a four seater dining table.

Lounge

It is a light south facing room with a panoramic view over the voe. It has an original open fireplace, an extensive library of modern novels with some Shetland reference books.
There is a satellite tv and a mini hi fi system.
The furniture consists of a sofa, two armchairs  a coffee table and a shelf unit housing the hi fi.

Shower room


Totally re-furbished, it comprises a quadrant shower with glazed doors, hand basin and WC, heated towel rail and convector heater.

Utility room with Sauna

Directly opposite the shower room is the wooden Scandinavian two person sauna, adjacent to which is a washing machine and extending drying line.

Double bedroom
Accessed by a wide naturally lit staircase, the two bedrooms look out over the voe. The double bedroom also has a chest of drawers and a built in hanging space.
The twin bedroom has a chest of drawers and a wardrobe.
